CQC rates The Muswell Hill Practice outstanding
We were delighted to hear today (26th January) that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated The Muswell Hill Practice outstanding following an inspection in November.
A huge congratulations to all the team at the practice for this achievement.
Fewer than one per cent of GP practices in London have achieved this rating and The Muswell Hill Practice becomes only the second practice in Haringey to be currently rated outstanding, joining West Green Surgery in N15.
This was the first inspection of The Muswell Hill Practice since moving to new premises in 2022.
As well as now rating the practice outstanding overall, CQC has also rated it outstanding for being caring and well-led. CQC has rated the practice good for being safe, effective, and responsive.
At its previous location CQC rated the service good overall and in all categories.
Jane Ray, CQC deputy director of operations in London, said:
“We were impressed by the person-centred and caring culture leaders had developed at The Muswell Hill Practice. People said staff were kind and reassuring, and often went the extra mile to meet their needs.
“We found the practice had asked for and acted on people’s feedback to improve their care. This included the design of the practice’s new purpose-built location, and the timing of appointments offered outside the practice’s normal working hours.
“We saw the practice was proactive in managing people’s health needs and risks, including for people with long-term conditions. The practice learned from any incidents and took steps to protect people in future.
“Staff told us they felt valued, listened-to, and were proud to work for The Muswell Hill Practice.
“The staff deserve to feel proud, and we hope other providers read this report to see what they can learn.”
The report will be published on CQC’s website on Friday 26 January.
